For some courses, yes. If the instructor has elected to provide one, the DOWNLOAD SYLLABUS button will appear in the class section’s summary page, under Course Resources.

In order to access syllabi in Course Atlas, students will need to be logged in to their Emory University Office365 account, which requires you to:
  • FIRST: Enter your NetworkID with Emory domain name (Example: GDooley@emory.edu)
  • THEN: Enter your Password
  • Note: A syllabus will only appear if the instructor elects to provide one
    • PDFs will open as a new browser tab
    • Word files will download to be opened in Word

Yes! Every class has an “Order Books” button which links directly to the Emory University Barnes & Noble website. If the instructor has specified book(s) needed for the class, you will be able to view.

Unfortunately, there is not a way to have a specific link for your courses. The url only defaults to atlas.emory.edu. We will keep you updated when this feature becomes available.

If you search for a key word (Philosophy), the Atlas will search selected fields for results, and they will be returned in this order:

  1. Code
  2. Title
  3. Description
  4. Other

Therefore, to search for your classes, you must type in "PHIL" and that will return your criteria.

You will need to move all of your final selections to the Primary Cart before you can push to OPUS. To do this, select a course from a secondary cart and press ADD TO CART.

When adding a class to your cart, a grey pop up box will appear at the bottom. You will see “Grade Mode”, where you can choose your preference.

You will automatically be enrolled into that class when you have advanced on the waitlist.

From the left-hand search and navigation menu, click Primary Cart button or select an alternative or secondary cart from the “Select a Cart” dropdown.

From the cart view, click the calendar icon at the top of this cart, and your weekly schedule will appear.

The symbols give you information about the class status.

  • Red Circle: Class is closed
  • Green Circle: Class is open
  • Orange Circle: Class is waitlisted, and you will be added to the waitlist if you selected this option when you added it to your Atlas Cart
  • Green Check: You have previously taken this or an equivalent course
  • Yellow triangle: This course may require a pre-requisite, you may need department or instructor permission to enroll, or you have an account hold which may prevent you from enrolling.

Yes. In the top right side of cart view, click “clear cart”. You will receive a pop-up notification confirming the removal.

Being able to add a class to your cart(s) in Atlas does not guarantee you will be able to enroll in that class. You will still need to validate enrollment eligibility in OPUS, and you will not be able to enroll in any classes outside of your career, that you have not yet completed all prerequisites for, or that require department or instructor permission.

This message indicates that your shopping cart appointment is not open. For information on when your shopping cart appointment will open, please communicate with your Academic Department.

This message indicates that you do not have permission to enrollment next semester. Please communicate with your Academic Department if the message is incorrect.

Certain schools such as the Laney Graduate School, do not use the waitlist option. If this is true for your school/department, there is no need to take action in the Add to waitlist field. After transferring classes to OPUS, the system will recognize classes in your cart that are not set-up for waitlisting. Use the validate button in OPUS to view additional class information.

To have a syllabus appear in the Course Atlas, schedulers must submit a PDF copy to courseatlashelp@emory.edu and include the following information in the body of the email message:

  • Term
  • Subject, Course Number and Section (ex. ACT 210-1102)
  • Primary Instructor’s Full Name

The deadline to submit your syllabus for the term is by the end of A/D/S.
