Degree Tracker: Staff/Faculty
The Emory Degree Tracker is a tool within OPUS, which allows students, advisors, and administrators in nearly all programs the ability to monitor student progress toward fulfillment of major, minor, concentration, and certificate requirements. Ultimately, this will better position schools, users, and all involved stakeholders to realize a more successful advisement engagement and clearer pathways to on-time completion. We are excited that Degree Tracker is currently rolled out to about 90% of Emory’s academic entities and look forward to full utilization of the tool by all schools in the near future. We hope that students will find Degree Tracker beneficial as they transition through their academic journey and that it promotes the effort staff and administrators put in to facilitate students’ success.

Degree Tracker FAQ
The Emory Degree Tracker is a PeopleSoft tool, which allows students, advisors, and administrators the ability to monitor individual progress toward fulfillment of major, minor, concentration, and certificate requirements. Ultimately, this will better position Emory students to realize more successful advisement engagement and clearer pathways to on-time completion.
You can access the Emory Degree Tracker via OPUS by following the directions in the Administrative or Advisor Self-Service guides.
If you see faculty/advisor option in the middle of the heading bar in OPUS, you have self-service access and can use the Academic Advising tile. However, if all you see is Administrator access, you will have to use the navigation icon on the top right to run a report for a student.
The relevant academic structure elements are as follows:
- Academic Career– This relates to the school (ex. Undergraduate Emory College, Undergraduate Business, Laney Graduate School, School of Public Health)
- Academic Program– For undergraduate students, LIBAS, BBA, AA, and BSN. Graduate student programs often mirror the degree type (ex. MA, PHD, DPT, JD).
- Academic Plan– This relates to a student’s major, minor, or certificate and is expressed via plan code (ex. RELBA, RELMIN, RELMA, RELPHD, BLACKCHCRT)
A green check indicates that a category or component of a category has been successfully completed. A yellow diamond indicates that a category or component of a category has not been completed yet, but that the student is actively working to complete it.
Each requirement belongs to a unique requirement group (RG), comprised of at least one requirement (RQ) and a corresponding line number (LN). These references are helpful not only in determining the exact locations of issues, but also for student exception purposes later on.
